Charlie and the Chocolate factory play

Today Year 4 rehearsed their new, exclusive scene that they have written for ‘Charlie and the Chocolate Factory’.
They also made some props and backdrops to use during recording.
Look out for the videos of their plays when they are uploaded over the next few days

Here are some photos from the Year 4 art gallery at the end of the project.
During this topic we experimented with a range of painting techniques such as pointalism, acrylic textured paints, collage and watercolour. We were amazed at how quickly our painting techniques improved.

Let us know your opinions on our art work please.

10.05.10 When 4M became opticians!

This afternoon we were learning to be scientists. Miss Martindale posed us the question ‘Who has the best eyesight in 4M?’

We worked independently in groups of four to solve this problem by designing our own eye test.

We had to think carefully about how we would make it a fair test so that it gave reliable results!

I wonder if we will find that our tests are reliable (give the same results) when we compare as a class?

Words are fun!

These made me chuckle- See if you like them too!

  • I couldn’t quite remember how to throw a boomerang, but I knew eventually it would come back to me!
  • He didn’t tell his mother that he had eaten the glue. His lips were sealed.
  • Two hats were hanging on a hat rack in the hallway. One hat said to the other, ‘You stay here, I’ll go on a head.’
  • What is a polygon?       A dead parrot!
  • Where does success come before work?     In the dictionary!
  • I want a hair cut please. Certainly, which one?!
