George comes to school!

This morning in Writers worshop we had brilliant fun writing our own versions of ‘The Hare and the Tortoise’. However there was a twist- we kept the character of the tortoise but we could choose any other speedy animal for him to race against!
We thought really carefully about how to describe the tortoise. To help us Miss Martindale bought in her pet tortoise who is called George.
Many of us had never seen a real tortoise before!

What a great idea to have a real character to write about. What sort of speedy animals did you choose?
